

Another thing is the drive works with no issue on my laptop. The drive itself has power though, and I can feel the it spinning, so it shouldn't be a hardware issue on the drive end. No, usb connection sound, not in file explorer, device manager(it does show if you view the hidden devices though, but it is treated as disconnected) or disk manager. However, if i unplug it and plug it back in after it is recognized, or if it was not plugged in on boot, the drive is not recognized in any fashion by windows. So, my WD 2TB external hard drive, as it is now, can only be recognized by my pc when it is plugged in before the pc is turned on, and all the files are perfectly accessible and all is well. This issue has stumped me for the past few months, mostly b/c of how strange the conditions are.
